Vacancy for Junior Night Bread Baker (application deadline 14/02/2021)

Location: Enfield, North London

Contract: Full time, permanent (30-45 hours per week night work)

Salary: Competitive hourly rate plus quarterly sales-related bonus, lunch & bread allowance (worth up to £10 per day) and shop discounts.

About us: Holtwhites Bakery is an award-winning independent artisan bakery & deli established in 2011. Our shop & bakery is based in an attractive residential area of Enfield, North London. We pride ourselves on baking the very best “real” artisan bread, pastries and cakes for our shop and wholesale customers.

Job Role: Junior Night Bread Baker

We are looking for a Junior night baker to join our small and friendly bread team.

Professional experience of baking is not required for this role, although a serious interest in becoming a professional artisan baker is essential. We are looking for someone who we can train up to bake excellent bread, using our own methods and recipes. Our award-winning artisan loaves are made from scratch using high-quality ingredients and traditional baking methods: sourdough, French, Italian and British doughs.

The successful candidate will be committed to working hard, physically strong and fit, have good numeracy & communication skills and work well in a small team. High quality standards and excellent attention to detail are essential attributes. Fluency in English is essential.

Our night bakers usually work 5 nights a week from 9pm to 6am although these hours may change according to the needs of the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with baking team to produce full range of breads
  • Accurate mixing, scaling and baking
  • Oven work
  • Working clean and tidy
  • Follow good food safety & hygiene practices at all times
