Holtwhites Bakery & Deli is owned and run by husband and wife team Richard and Kate. Holtwhites was initially a micro-bakery run from our home, where we baked up to 100 loaves of bread each Friday night and sold them from our kitchen door on Saturday mornings.

We eventually left our day jobs in 2011 to open Holtwhites Bakery & Deli at 119 Chase Side with the aim of bringing excellent quality food and great customer service to our local area.

Our baked goods are handmade on the premises by our team of skilled bakers led by Richard. We stock a range of quality deli items made by other artisan producers: the very best farmhouse cheeses, craft beers, locally-roasted coffee, hand-made preserves. Our products are show-cased at our regular tasting events as well as in our lunch menu. Home-made soups, salads and sandwiches are made fresh daily in our kitchen for customers to take away.

We are lucky to have a great team of bakers, cooks, shop staff and driver who work round the clock to meet demand. A baker’s life is not easy, but it is very rewarding! We are as still as passionate about the business and as excited about its future as we were back in 2011.

Although we are constantly looking for ways to improve our products and service, our ethos remains the same:

  • We use only the best quality ingredients and traditional, “slow” baking methods which means that our products look, smell and taste great naturally.
  • We aim to delight our customers with great customer service. We want our shop to be a warm and welcoming haven for people who love good food.
